		    | | The TexVet Legacy Project isdedicated to preserving and sharing
the powerful stories of Veterans. Supported by the U.S. Department of Veterans
Affairs, our mission is to enrich the Veterans Legacy Memorial (VLM) website
and honor the legacies of those laid to rest in Texas VA funded cemeteries.
We kindly invite you to share the stories of Veterans interred in one of
the 10 State or Federal VA-funded cemeteries across Texas (Central Texas
State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery
in Corpus Christi, Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission,
Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery,
Fort Bliss National Cemetery, Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Houston
National Cemetery, Kerrville National Cemetery, and San Antonio National
		      Cemetery).

We have trained 12 TXST Student Veterans/military-connected students
to collect stories of Veterans who are buried in a VA-funded cemetery in
Texas. We are also collecting images/photos, memorabilia, and related pictures
to digitize and memorialize their legacy. We will be uploading these artifacts
and the interviews to the Veterans Legacy Memorial (VLM).... We are funded
through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs until the end of August--
and we are currently applying for funding for a second year to continue our
efforts. We have a large community advisory board of various community
stakeholders supporting Veterans, including the Veterans Land Board. |
