Holiday Homecoming December 16, 2018 – As is our custom, we followed the Christmas music
program with our Post “Holiday Homecoming” gathering. This large traditional family feast, with
turkeys, hams, and all the trimmings plus a table full of sweets, brings
together members, their families, and friends of the Post in a joyous
celebration of the season.

Christmas Caroling December
16, 2018 – For our seventh
year, the Post organized and performed a Christmas music program at a local
senior living facility on December 17th. Our program this year featured four solo
performances and five group songs, with piano and guitar accompaniment. The community’s residents seemed to really
enjoy the music and many sang along.

Veterans Day Parade November
11, 2018 – On November 11th the Post supported the
City of Buda Veterans Day Celebration.
Our Post family gathered together to commemorate the 100th
anniversary of Armistice Day by participating in the city’s Veterans
Parade. It was wonderful to share our
solidarity as a Post and to show our pride as veterans. Special thanks to Robert Echeverria for
sharing his beautifully restored Humvee for use in the parade.

Post Family & Friends Chili
Cook-Off October
27, 2018 – Our annual Post Chili Cook-Off on October 27, 2018
was a big success, with both the cooks and with those there to taste all the
great chilies. Open to all veterans
from the local area, eight teams competed for best chili and best themed
booth.

First Responders Breakfast September 29, 2018 – Post TX115 held its fourth
annual First Responders Breakfast on September 29, 2018. Local Police, Sheriff, Fire, and EMS
agencies plus Constables were invited to the Post for a hot breakfast and
lots of gratitude.

Annual Post Family Picnic August
11, 2018 – Post TX115 had its second annual
Family Picnic on August 11, 2018.
While the temperatures were a bit on the warm side, a cool time was
had by all as they enjoyed some traditional summer fare and great
camaraderie.

Spouse Appreciation Breakfast July 7, 2018 – Post TX115 held its first Spouse
Appreciation Breakfast on July 7, 2018, to thank all the wives, husbands, and
partners who have supported their military member. We love you for enduring the demands of
military service and especially for “holding the fort” while we were away!

Women Veterans Recognition Breakfast June 9, 2018 – Post TX115 held its first annual Women Veterans Recognition
Breakfast on June 9, 2018, commemorating the Texas Women Veterans day, the 70th
anniversary of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act, and 101 years of
women in uniformed military service.
Former USAF Major Shelly Calvert spoke of her service both Iraq and in
Germany treating those wounded in combat.

Lions Club Wiener Dog Races April 28 & 29, 2018 – Post TX115 again
supported the Buda Lions Club at their annual Wiener Dog Races, providing
AMVETS veteran members to direct parking.
This event is the Lions major fundraiser for the year, one hundred
percent of which is used to support local youth that are disabled and/or
disadvantaged.

JROTC Awards April & May 2018 – Post TX115 supported a record 16 high
school programs requesting AMVETS JROTC award packages for end of school year
awards ceremonies. Additionally, post
members presented the awards at a record 12 schools in April and May.

Vietnam
Era Veterans Breakfast March
31, 2018 – Post TX115 held its
first Vietnam era veterans breakfast on March 31, 2018, observing the 50th
anniversary of the 1968 Tet Offensive and the highest level of American
troops in country. Local area VFW and
Legion posts veterans joined AMVETS members as we honored the service and
sacrifice of those who answered our country’s call to duty.

Military Care Packages January & February 2018 – Throughout January, veterans, family members, and friends contributed
hundreds of items for our annual “Veterans Valentine” Care Packages
program. On February 3,
2018 Post members contributed items and helped fill our “Veterans Valentine”
Care Packages that we sent to military members deployed overseas. This year’s effort yielded 20 boxes, filled to the brim with goodies for the
troops. This is our 6th
year of this important program to support those serving all of us downrange.

Mid-Winter Raffle January 2018 – During January Post members sold tickets for our annual Mid-Winter
Raffle, once again featuring the popular Ruger LC9s. Due to the outstanding efforts of many,
this fundraiser was very successful.
